Deyonta Davis left Michigan State after his freshman season to enter tonight's NBA Draft. Projected by everyone as a lottery pick, he fell to the 2nd round. That isn't a big deal in most sports, but in basketball it means that his contract goes from a guaranteed deal to a non-guaranteed deal. It was certainly a disappointment for "DD."
Davis was picked #31 overall by the Celtics and traded along with #35 for 1st rounder in 2019 to the Grizzlies. Davis said after being picked, "I will play with a chip on my shoulder." Good for you DD.
