Legendary Hall of Fame Coach Mike Krzyzewski Talks After #4 Duke Downs #3 Kansas 68-66

Champions Classic

Madison Square Garden

New York City, NY

The #3 Kansas Jayhawks took on the #4 Duke Blue Devils here tonight in the first game of the Champions Classic. The story of the game was the careless care of the ball from the Jayhawks. They had 18 turnovers in the first half alone prompting Coach Bill Self to say at halftime, “We were awful.”   Kansas had 28 turnovers for the game.

Duke has a renewed sense of purpose to old school defense this season and it showed. The Blue Devils had a ton of on-ball pressure forcing the Jayhawks to have to move the ball to the rim from the outside.

In the end, the Jayhawks carelessness with the basketball was too much for them to overcome. The Blue Devils took the game 68-66. The Blue Devils will be in East Lansing to take on the Spartans on Tuesday, December 3rd in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. That game can be seen on ESPN and it tips off at 9:30 PM

Speaking of the #1 Spartans, they take on the #2 Kentucky Wildcats at 9:38 tonight here in game two of the Champions classic here at Madison Square Garden. Keep in locked in on Spartan Nation for all the inside information.
