BREAKING: Ohio State starter ruled 'Out' vs Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament
Ohio State will be without starter and leading-scorer Brice Sensabaugh in the Buckeyes' Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals matchup against Michigan State.
OSU basketball's official Twitter page confirmed that the star freshman had been ruled 'Out' due to "knee soreness" roughly and hour and a half prior to tipoff between the Buckeyes and Spartans.
Sensabaugh is averaging 16.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season for Ohio State, and he was selected to the Big Ten's All-Freshman team following the conclusion to the 2022-23 regular season.
Michigan State defended Sensabaugh well in the first matchup between these two teams back on Feb. 12 in Columbus. The freshman scored just eight points on 3-for-14 shooting, including 1-for-7 from three-point range. In the second matchup between the Spartans and Buckeyes, Sensabaugh led Ohio State with 21 points. He shot 7-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-6 from deep on March 4 in East Lansing.
Ohio State, the No. 13 seed, reached the quarterfinals with upset wins over 12th-seeded Wisconsin and fifth-seeded Iowa in the first two rounds of the Big Ten Tournament. Michigan State, the No. 4 seed, earned a double-bye.
