Breslin Center

East Lansing, MI

The #1 Michigan State Spartans came into this senior night with only one goal: win the game. They did just that in dominating fashion 81-61 over Illinois. By the time the game had ended, the Spartans celebrated senior night for Lou Rawls “Tum Tum” Nairn, Gavin Schilling and Ben Carter and ended the evening raising a Big Ten title banner up to the rafters of the Breslin Center. It was a magical evening.

With this win, the Spartans improve their best start in program history to 27-3 (14-2). The Spartans have now won 11 in a row. Their 27th win this evening also sets an all-time Spartan record for wins in a regular season.

The #1 Spartans return to action on Sunday afternoon. That game tips off at 1 PM and can be seen on CBS. The Spartans will be taking on Wisconsin at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The Spartans have not played against the Badgers this season.
