18 IL DT Dashaun Mallory Finally Commits To #5 Michigan State
On multiple occasions, Spartan Nation has detailed the recruitment of 18 IL DT Dashaun Mallory. He has been a plan A recruit for the Spartans since early on the in the process. (We recommend you what the above video from last summer at his home in Bolingbrook)
He is a charismatic and warm young man that showed true grit and determination to get his grades and academics in order. He has done that. While you must celebrate Mallory and his dogged determination to be a Spartan, you must also credit Mark Dantonio and his staff from never wavering.
Spartan Nation learned yesterday afternoon about Mallory’s academic success. We also knew that it was being reviewed by Coach Mark Dantonio and the staff. That is why we reported in our very popular WAR ROOM article that a commitment was imminent.
Shortly after our article Mallory Tweeted the following:

Mallory told Spartan Nation yesterday before the commit was public, “It is exciting to work hard and achieve the academic success that will now allow me to reach athletic success.” I expect zero issues academically from Mallory once he arrives on campus. He has matured and takes his role as a student-athlete very serious.
Way back in November Spartan Nation reported that Mallory and his recruitment might take into late spring, but that he was committed to the Spartans and they were to him. Mallory will compete to get on the field immediately this fall.
