As he closes in on a making a college decision with National Signing Day less than a month away, Bishop Gorman (NV) 2018 3-star wide receiver Jalen Nailor is in the process of narrowing down his options and will be taking an official visit to #15 Michigan Statethis weekend.

Nailor spoke with Spartan Nation about his trip to East Lansing this weekend and said that he’s obviously looking forward to his visit and wants to see how #15 Michigan State stacks up against the other colleges he’s had the chance to see in person.

“I’m super excited,” he said. “I’ve never been and I’ve never seen it in person, I’ve seen other schools in person, but it’ll be nice to see Michigan State.”

Nailor currently holds 10 offers, including offers from Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Wisconsin, UNLV, and Nevada as well as Michigan State. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver, who’s received the nickname ‘Speedy’ said that he’s strongly considering Utah, along with the Spartans.

When it comes to his official visit this weekend, Nailor, who will be joined by his parents, said that he’s simply looking for a place where he feels comfortable.

“I just want to see the best possible place that I could see myself at,” he said. “Just a place that makes me feel at home and I think that Michigan State could be that place.”

The Spartans have already landed a pledge from Bishop Gorman in the 2018 class, as Nailor’s teammate and 3-star offensive lineman Jacob Isaia signed with Michigan State last month.

Nailor, who said that he’s been recruited by Michigan State receivers coach Terrence Samuel, admitted that the opportunity to play alongside his friend and high school teammate at the college level is something that is appealing to him and could make the transition to college easier considering he’d be pretty far from home.

“I would love to,” he said. “We go to the same school, so we already have that connection, so I wouldn’t feel alone at a college like that all the way from home, so that’d be dope.”

When Isaia spoke with Spartan Nation earlier this week, he said that he was happy to hear that Michigan State is continuing to pursue his high school teammate and feels he would be a good fit with the Spartans.

“I’m just glad that Michigan State is looking at him,” he said. “He’s a really good tool to use and he’s a really good player on and off the field. His nickname is ‘Speedy’ so you know he’s really quick. I’ve seen his speed, I know what he’s capable of and I’m glad that Michigan State is still looking at him and is still in contact with him.”

But while Isaia said that he’d also like to continue playing with Nailor, he admitted that he’s recruiting his friend, but also giving him plenty of space to make the decision that’s best for himself.

“A little bit,” he said. “Every time I talk with him and he talks with me, I tell him it’s his decision whether it’s Michigan State or not, it’s up to him, I can only do so much. He usually comes up to me and says ‘Wow, I just watched that Spartan Insider’ – the TV show – or ‘I watched some film from a game and they look pretty good.’ And I said ‘Well, that’s Michigan State’.”

With his recruiting process winding down, Nailor told Spartan Nation that he’s excited to be in the position that he’s in and is thankful for his parents helping him every step of the way.

“I’m just extremely blessed,” he said. “I’m thankful for all that my parents do and how much they sacrifice for me and I just can't thank them enough.”

But while National Signing Day is quickly approaching, Nailor is in no hurry to make a college decision and wants to see how his visit to Michigan State plays and will go from there, but does not have any other official visits set up at this time.
