19 GA S Jordan Huff (Michigan State Commit) Talks Spartans

Madison (GA) Morgan County 2019 3-star safety Jordan Huff became Michigan State’s fourth commit back on Christmas Day and Spartan Nation caught up with Huff to talk about his decision and what the future may hold for him in East Lansing.
When it came down to making his decision, Huff said that #5 Michigan State’s family atmosphere made the Spartans the perfect fit for him.
“It was just family oriented up there,” he said. “I always knew I wanted to get away from Georgia and Michigan State was just the best place for me.”
Huff currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, Iowa State and Appalachian State, but told Spartan Nation that he is fully committed to Michigan State.
“100-percent,” he said. “I don’t even post my offers anymore. I haven’t been on any visits, I don’t do anything. Just Go Green, Go White.”
Huff said that he intends on taking two visits to East Lansing in the very near future, the first on March 24th and the second on April 4th and plans on being on campus for the Spring game.
Since Huff is fully committed to the Spartans, he is now trying to do some recruiting of his own and has been working to get his friend, Winston Wright, a 3-star ATH from Memorial Day School in Savannah, to East Lansing as well.
“I’ve got my friend Winston Wright,” he said. “We’re trying to be the two boys from Georgia to go green.”
Wright holds 16 offers, including offers from Boston College, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Marshall and Central Florida.
Huff, who was mainly recruited by Michigan State Co-Offensive Coordinator and tight ends coach Jim Bollman, said that while Michigan State has him listed as a safety at the moment, he’s been told he could play a number of different positions because of his versatility.
“They told me that they really don’t know what I would come in and play, but they marked me down as a free safety,” he said. “But I could play offense, defense, anything.”
A standout on the football field, Huff said that academics play a big role in his family and that both of his parents and his grandmother are always preaching the importance of grades and also noted that his dad has been instrumental in helping him on the football field.
“My grandmother went to UGA and she has four degrees from there,” he said. “My father has always been coaching me up, even when I was young and my mom is a teacher - my grandma is also a principal - and they have just always been on me about my grades and my dad is on me about football and my grades. So ever since I was young, I always had a goal and I just tried to stick to it.”
