Michigan State and Coach Jonathan Smith have quickly accomplished many of their goals and expectations this summer. At the same time, Coach Smith and his coaching staff know they have a long way to go in rebuilding Michigan State's football program.

Coach Smith and his coaching staff spent the first offseason with the team, analyzing the most significant needs for the football program moving forward. They had a productive first offseason in East Lansing but will undoubtedly need another productive few weeks and a productive regular season.

In the arguments I have been a part of between spouses, I have noticed, needless to say, that Coach Smith’s job lasts much longer and beyond Coach Smith in the picks. Coach Smith and Michigan State begin to focus on what will likely be a challenging summer. His ability to make the best of any situation will bode well for Coach Smith and Michigan State as they aim for new beginnings in the storied football program’s existence.

Coach Smith and his coaching staff have overcome their fair share of hurdles this offseason as they continue to build the future. As Coach Smith and Michigan State continue to press onward, focusing on the future, it will be imperative for him and his coaching staff to get the most out of the players currently on the roster in the hopes of producing extra wins this season and a better recruiting and transfer portal class for the class of 2025.

As Coach Smith and his coaching staff continue to plan for the future, their biggest concern is undoubtedly the upcoming season. Coach Smith enters the first season of what is expected to be a resurgent season for Coach Smith and Michigan State.

While Coach Smith and his coaching staff continue to search for ways to improve the team this offseason, he and Michigan State’s football team are unquestionably excited about the chance to prove many people wrong this upcoming season. The forthcoming season cannot come fast enough for Coach Smith, his coaching staff, and the players on Michigan State’s roster.
