It is no secret to anyone who has remotely followed #5 Michigan State for many years that Coach Ken Mannie is as ICONIC as Sparty himself. In fact, multiple former players have called him, “The real-life Sparty,” for the hard work, discipline and impressive molding of young men’s bodies that he does as the Spartans Strength and Conditioning Coach and director.
Mannie is an ICON around the world of sports who has turned down multiple jobs to stay in East Lansing. He literally could pick up the phone and call any NFL or college team and get any job he wanted in the nation. Despite turning down multiple NFL teams and the likes of Nick Saban and Jim Tressel from the college world, the ageless ICON continues to shine for the Spartans.
Earlier this week another snapshot of that came out when the video of a tug of war match from inside Spartan football offseason workouts emerged. Enjoy the camaraderie, emotion, and exuberance of you Spartans, under the direction of the ICONIC Mannie.
