Mark Dantonio and the #5 Michigan State Spartans continue their epic haul of talent in recruiting for the 2019 class. The Spartans moments ago added their third commits (2nd RB) in Anthony Williams from Bolingbrook, IL.

The Spartans have had their eyes focused on Williams for several years, but when he made the trip north last week for camp, things changed. His performance earned him an offer and he made his acceptance official just moments ago.

Williams says of his commitment that, “After much prayer and discussion with my family, I am humbled and excited to announce that I am committing to Michigan State University!”

Michigan State is expected to pick up TWO additional picks later today. That would bring the class to 16 commits. For sure the Spartans will take a QB, but they will be VERY selective on who they take now.

The Spartans taking a second RB closes the door on Jaren Mangham coming to East Lansing, but credit Williams for that. He showed some stunning athleticism that could allow him to motion out to a slot or even an outside WR spot on occasion. While not a WR, his athleticism, and subsequent hands make him RB that could be deadly in the running game as well as the passing attack.

With two more commitments expected today, keep it tuned to Spartan Nation for the latest. The Spartans will target 20 as the number of scholarships for 2019, but they would take a 21st should an elite prospect push to join.
