Michigan State Spartan DC Mike Tressel Talks Wisconsin Badgers
Duffy Daugherty Football Building
East Lansing, MI
The Michigan State Spartans (4-2) are headed to Madison, Wisconsin over the weekend. There they will find #8 Wisconsin Badgers (5-0) ready for another EPIC Big Ten tilt.
The Spartans highly praised defense will be facing one of America’s top rushing attacks. The Badgers are led by All American tailback Jonathan Taylor. A monster who is putting up accumulative numbers better than Badger great Ron Dayne did during his incredible Heisman Trophy winning season.
This is the 54th time the Spartans and the Badgers have met. It is the first time since 2016 (East Lansing) and the last time these two teams met in Camp Randall was back in 2012 where the Spartans were able to scrape out a win 16-13 overtime win.
We caught up after practice to talk with widely respected Spartan defensive coordinator Mike Tressel. The Badgers are unique in that they run both zone and gap plays and love to pull both an OT and OG on the same play. But have not fear Spartan Nation, Tressel know exactly what he is getting from the Badgers and he loves the challenge for both him and the Spartan Dawg defense.
