Michigan State adds future home games against in-state MAC program
Michigan State has added two games against in-state, Mid-American Conference opponent Western Michigan to its future football schedules.
The university announced on Tuesday that it would welcome the Broncos to Spartan Stadium on Sept. 2, 2028 and again on Aug. 30, 2031. This is in addition to another scheduled meeting between Michigan State and Western Michigan on Aug. 30, 2025 in East Lansing.
The Spartans are 15-2 all time against the Broncos, with their last defeat coming in a 21-18 decision way back on Oct. 11, 1919. Western Michigan also defeated Michigan State, 14-0, on Nov. 3, 1917.
MSU has won 13 in a row in the series, including a 37-24 victory in the only matchup played in Kalamazoo back on Sept. 4, 2015. In the last meeting, Michigan State defeated Western Michigan, 35-13, in the 2022 season-opener.
