The Spartans still have several guys out due to injury, as MSU prepares to host in-state rival Wolverines...

As Michigan State prepares to face in-state rival Michigan, the Spartans will be well below full strength from a health standpoint.

MSU has listed 11 players 'Out' for today's game, including starting cornerback Charles Brantley who has been unavailable for four consecutive games now after suffering an injury against Washington in Week 3. In his absence, true freshman Chance Rucker is expected to get the start. He's played well since taking over the job, and collecting 12 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception in six games this season.

After being listed 'Out' for most of the year thus far, transfer running back Jaren Mangham (South Florida) has been upgraded to 'Questionable'. Mangham has yet to play in a game this season for the Spartans. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Jaron Glover is also listed as 'Questionable'.

Other players Michigan State have listed as 'Out' include linebackers Darius Snow and Ma'a Gaoteote; defensive backs Semar Melvin, Malcolm Jones, Ade Willie and Marqui Lowery; defensive linemen Jarrett Jackson and Dre Butler; edge rusher Bai Jobe; and offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock.

Previous Michigan State players who have been listed 'Out' for the season include linebacker Jacoby Windmon, safety Armorion Smith, defensive tackle Alex VanSumeren, running back Jaelon Barbarin and offensive linemen Stanton Ramil and Gavin Broscious.
