BREAKING: Michigan State Lands Two More Commitments Along Offensive Line

The Spartans stay hot on the recruiting trail, with now four verbal pledges in the past three days...

Another day, another pair of verbal commitments for Michigan State.

The Spartans' class of 2024 is now up to nine members, including four pledges in the past three days, after twin brothers and three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Hills Christian Academy Mercer and Charlton Luniewski announced their commitment to MSU on Monday afternoon.

The Luniewski brothers' decision comes on the heels of an official visit to Michigan State this past weekend. MSU offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic and the support staff made a big enough impression to bring the twins into the fold, beating out the hometown Cincinnati Bearcats in this recruitment.

While both are considered three-star recruits, Mercer is ranked above his brother as the No. 846 overall player and No. 67 offensive tackle prospect in the class. His measurables are impressive at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, and he's received 25 scholarship offers including Duke, Boston College, Minnesota, Wake Forest and Tulane among others.

Charlton, meanwhile, is considered the No. 1411 overall player, No. 112 interior offensive lineman in the '24 cycle. He's a bit smaller than his brother at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds and has received 17 scholarship offers. Programs that have offered both brothers include Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Appalachian State, Connecticut, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Virginia among others.

Michigan State has a solid crop of offensive linemen committed in their 2024 class. In addition to the Luniewski brothers, Kapilovic has previously earned pledges from three-stars Andrew Dennis and Logan Bennett, each of whom are listed as interior offensive linemen.

Over the weekend, the Spartans also landed verbal commitments from four-star tailback Anthony Carrie and three-star defensive back Syair Torrence, which came on the heels of pledges from three-star safety Reggie Powers and three-star defensive back Camren Campbell. Michigan State had previously earned a commitment from three-star cornerback Jaylen Thompson.
