Michigan State Trending For 2024 Quarterback Target

The Spartans may be closing in on their signal-caller for this recruiting class...

Michigan State may be closing in on its quarterback for the 2024 recruiting class, and its a name football fans will be familiar with.

Three-star prospect Henry Hasselbeck, son of former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, took a second, multi-day visit to East Lansing earlier this week following his official visit to MSU over the weekend of June 2.

The younger Hasselbeck told multiple publications that the purpose of his second visit to Michigan State was to give his mom a chance to meet the coaches and get a look at the campus. As a result of Hasselbeck's most-recent visit, several "crystal ball" predictions on 247Sports.com have come pouring in for the Spartans to land Hasselbeck's verbal commitment.

In addition to Michigan State, Hasselbeck has taken official visits to Boston College (June 9) and UAB (June 19), and will take another official visit this upcoming weekend to Pittsburgh (June 22). The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder has garnered 17 total scholarship offers including Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Western Michigan, Army and others.

Hasselbeck is currently committed to play lacrosse at Maryland, but he's seen his football recruitment explode in recent weeks. Hasselbeck's official visit to Michigan State during the first weekend of June was his first official visit for football.
