The Good, The Bad & The Ugly With Michigan State Spartan Football Week 10

This week on The Good, The Bad and The Ugly with Michigan State Spartan football, we are joined as always by the legendary state of Michigan High School football and basketball coach Chuck Grenier.

We dig deep on the post mortem of what was the Penn State loss.  The Spartans are now officially in a free fall as a football program.  Mark Dantonio rolled the dice on his legacy in reshuffling his offensive coaching staff and not firing anyone.  That decision has come back to haunt him.

How bad is the Spartan offense?  Check out these atrocious numbers.  They are:

*They are 12th out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in scoring offense.

*They are 13th out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in rushing offense.

*They are 5th in the Big Ten out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in passing offense.  That number is deceptive, as teams that are losing by large margins must pass more in order to catch up, thus the increase in production.  That is not a positive.

*They are 11th out of 14 teams in the Big Ten in total offense.  That is embarrassing for a program in which the head coach could have hired any offensive staff that he wanted and AD Bill Beekman would have paid for it.

On a side note, this was recorded prior to the breaking news about Joe Bachie.
