T.J. Duckett Could Be Moved

T.J. Duckett Could Be Moved

Â
The former Spartan Nation hero and current Atlanta Falcon running back could be moved to a new home before the start of the 2006 NFL season. It seems that the running back position for the Falcons might be full.  Warrick Dunn, the starting back recently received a two-year extension to his contract. Then, in this year’s entry draft, the team selected Mississippi St. tailback Jerious Norwood with their second round pick.Â

Â
Before the draft Atlanta flirted with the idea of trading Duckett to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the loss of Bettis to retirement, Duckett would make a viable option for the hard-nosed Steeler running game. However, nothing materialized, and it is up to speculation if anything will ever be made of those rumor talks.Â

Â
It seems that Duckett will not be useful in the west coast offense that the Falcons run. Not to worry, even if Atlanta does move Duckett off their active roster, it appears that they will have at least one other Spartan Nation running back in their backfield to start the season, DeAndra Cobb.Â

Â
Throughout his career, Duckett has compiled 2,175 yards, averaging 3.9 yards per carry, and has found the end zone 31 times.Â
