Team USA and the Spartan Nation’s Own Ryan Miller Gets a Shutout in the Olympic Quarterfinals: 2-0 over Switzerland

Ryan Miller had 19 shots attempted against him and he stopped them all. Not since Jim Craig in 1980 has a goalie captivated the Olympics like Miller. He has now lead team USA to an improbable 4-0 start and is one win away from a gold medal game.

Neither team scored until they American’s got their first goal in the third period. Zach Parise got a third period power play goal at the 2:08 mark and then added his second goal of the game on an empty netter at 19:48.

There was speculation around the world that the American’s would stumble looking ahead having beaten the Swiss in their first game of this Olympiad. Obviously that wasn’t the case.

They American’s will face the winner of the Finland vs. Czech match up. They will be favored in that game setting them up nicely for a ticket to the gold medal game.
