DETROIT LIONS TRADE QB JOEY HARRINGTON TO MIAMI DOLPHINSAllen Park, Mich.- The Detroit Lions announced today that they have traded QB Joey Harrington to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed conditional draft pick.

Harrington (6-4, 220) was drafted by the Lions with the third overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft. In four seasons with the Lions, He played in 58 games (55 starts) and completed 986-of-1,802 passes (54.7-percent) for 10,242 yards and 60 touchdowns with 62 interceptions. Harrington is the sixth Detroit quarterback to pass for over 10,000 yards and the fifth to throw for 60 touchdowns in franchise history.

In 2004, Harrington had his best season with a career-best 3,047 passing yards, 56.0 completion percentage, 19 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions. He became just the third Lions quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season.

Last season, Harrington was selected as the Detroit Lions' 2005 Robert Porcher Man of the Year, which recognizes off-the-field community service. He was one of 32 finalists, one from each NFL team, to receive $1,000 for his foundation and was a finalist for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year honor.

During his four-year collegiate career at Oregon, he accumulated 512 completions on 928 attempts (55.2-percent) for 6,911 yards, 59 touchdowns and only 23 interceptions in 33 games (28 starts). His record as a starter was 25-3, including an unbeaten record (3-0) during post-season play, engineering victories against Minnesota (Sun Bowl), Texas (Holiday Bowl) and Colorado (Fiesta Bowl).
