Mark Dantonio & Michigan State Get a Very Important Commitment That Will Have a Big Impact on 2017
Entering into this season MSU is loaded at TE. Josiah Price and Jamal Lyles are both fifth year seniors and listed as the co-starters for the Spartans. Dylan Chmura is entering his red shirt junior campaign, Matt Sokol looks like an emerging star as a redshirt sophomore. The TE position didn't get as many looks in the past as they had hoped as former QB Connor Cook had a tendency to focus more intently on WR.
That is expected to change this season and the Spartans have their eyes set on the future. Part of that future came in to focus when former Buffalo TE Matt Seybert announced that he will be leaving that MAC program for the Spartans. Seybert is from Traverse City. He announced the decision via his Twitter feed.
Seybert will be required by NCAA rules to sit out the 2016 season. He will have three years of eligibility left for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons.
