MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TEAMS EARN CSCAA HONORS
The College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced that Michigan State placed both its men’s and women’s programs among the 710 college swim teams nationwide to earn Scholar All-America honors based on their academic performance in the Spring 2018 semester.

A total of 95 Division I institutions placed both their men’s and women’s teams on the list of Scholar All-America lists. The Spartan men earned Scholar All-American Top-10 distinction, ranking seventh in the nation with a 3.45 cumulative GPA, behind Grand Canyon, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Manhattan, and Davidson. The Spartan women boasted a 3.41 cumulative GPA for the spring semester.
A total of 25 men and 29 women earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2017-18, with six athletes maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade-point average through the spring 2018 semester: juniors Courtney Aycock (Kinesiology), and Nehemiah Mork (Mechanical Engineering), sophomores Taylor Arnold (Special Education – Learning Disabilities), Amanda Ling (English), Scott Piper (Biosystems Engineering), and Elise Turke (Neuroscience).
NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as NAIA and NJCAA teams, are eligible for the distinction, which is awarded to all teams with a combined GPA of at least 3.0.
