Good, Bad, and Ugly Podcast Covering Michigan State Athletics Episode XIII

Let's take a deep-dive in Michigan State athletics with our latest episode of the Good, Bad and Ugly podcast featuring Chuck Grenier.

A legend within Michigan high school athletics, Chuck Grenier, joins Spartan Nation to discuss Michigan State athletics' latest news.

New Michigan State Football coach Mel Tucker has gained some momentum on the recruiting trail after falling behind due to the late retirement of Mark Dantonio.

He's gained verbal commits from Geno VanDeMark, Audric Estime, Jah'von Grigsby, and Alex Okelo – all players MSU fans should be excited to see in Spartan Stadium.

Grenier believes fans should be excited because the players are approaching this season with a ton of energy.

He thinks the revamped schedule released by the Big Ten is fair to the Spartans, providing them with competitive, but winnable matchups.

Tucker is creating an entirely new culture in East Lansing, one the team seems to be buying in on and certainly exemplifies in press conferences and on-field practices.

The players have been vocal about the energy this staff brings to the table, whether it's zoom meetings, fall camp (without pads), or the transition to fully padded practices – they don't hold back.

Is the positive and energetic response from players an indictment on the former coaching staff? That remains to be seen, but it's possible MSU received an upgrade in coaching this past offseason.
