State of Michigan State Athletics Podcast Episode X

On this edition of the state of Michigan State athletics podcast, Spartan Nation senior writer Jon Schopp and publisher Hondo Carpenter discuss how the postponed season can benefit the Spartans.

Michigan State athletics has been forced to hit the pause button, none more than the football team who seemingly jumped multiple hurdles since Mel Tucker's arrival.

However, with a new coaching staff and system, is it possible the extra time off can only benefit the Spartans?

Until the Big Ten announces a return date, hopefully between now and the spring, MSU should be able to use this time as an extension of the offseason.

Spartan Nation publisher Hondo S. Carpenter, Sr., and Spartan Nation senior writer Jon Schopp discuss Nebraska head coach Scott Frost and the Cornhuskers' response to the leagues' decision.

Initially, Nebraska began looking outside of the Big Ten when they learned there might not be a season.

Is it possible the Cornhuskers are welcomed back had they left for a year?

The conference's decision to postpone fall sports has received a lot of attention in the last month, and rightfully so.

But should football come back, how will player eligibility and roster size work with incoming recruiting classes?

And will the news out of Yale and Wisconsin get us closer to rapid testing for coronavirus? Without it, it's difficult to see a path back to football.
