Minnesota's 2023 leading receiver from Andover commits to Gophers
It took all of about 30 minutes for a high school football standout in Minnesota to receive an offer from the Golden Gophers and then commit.
Cameron Begalle, a wide receiver who led the state in receiving yards at Andover High School in 2023, announced Tuesday that he received an offer and pretty much committed on the spot.
"Wow! After a great conersation with [head coach P.J. Fleck] I'm truly blessed and excited to receive an Offer from the University of Minnesota," he announced. " I'm gonna be a gopher!"
Begalle had 74 receptions for 1,252 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior in 2023. He'll suit up for Andover again during his senior season in 2024 and then eventually join the Gophers as part of the 2025 recruiting class.
247Sports has Begalle ranked as the No. 6 recruit in Minnesota's Class of 2025. The No. 1 player in Minnesota's 2025 graduating class is Robbinsdale Cooper linebacker Emmanuel Karmo, who recently announced his commitment to the Gophers.
Begalle had previously received scholarship offers from Air Force and Army.
