Minnesota's chances of receiving a commitment from now-former Wake Forest wide receiver Jahmal Banks may be fading.

The 6-foot-4 graduate transfer caught 59 passes for 653 yards and four touchdowns this season and has received offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and other Power-5 schools since Minnesota offered him on Dec. 8.

According to recruiting service On3, Banks will visit Notre Dame this weekend, having already paid a visit to the Badgers. It's unclear if he plans on visiting Minnesota.

The only thing noteworthy about Banks and Minnesota so far is that Banks retweeted a Minnesota men's basketball post that applauded point guard Elijah Hawkins. Both Banks and Hawkins are from Washington, D.C., though their relationship beyond that is unknown.

When Banks was catching passes for quarterback Sam Hartman in 2022, he was more explosive and found the end zone more often. In 2022 he finished with 42 receptions for 636 yards and nine touchdowns. He was fifth among Power-5 players with a 58.6% contested catch rate in 2022.

Hartman left Wake Forest for Notre Dame this past season.

The Gophers are also targeting Oklahoma State wide receiver transfer Blaine Green and New Mexico State receiver transfer Trent Hudson, who made an official visit to UConn this week.
