Gophers offer scholarship to Fresno State transfer QB Logan Fife

The Gophers continue to re-stock their quarterback room through the transfer portal.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers have made a scholarship offer to Fresno State transfer quarterback Logan Fife.

Fife is a junior who is in the transfer portal after appearing in 24 games for the Bulldogs over the past three seasons. The Tracy, California native appeared in all 12 games for Fresno State last season and completed 57 percent of his passes for 642 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions this past fall before entering the portal.

Fife could add depth to the Gophers' quarterback room after Minnesota lost starting quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis to the transfer portal.

While the Gophers got a commitment from New Hampshire transfer Max Brosmer last week, Minnesota's depth chart remains thin heading into next season even with three-star recruit Drake Lindsey arriving next fall.

Senior Cole Kramer, who was named the starter for the Quick Lane Bowl against Bowling Green on Dec. 26, has two years of eligibility remaining while walk-on freshman Max Shikenjanski has four years of eligibility remaining.
