Gophers' Tyler Nubin, Brevyn Spann-Ford invited to NFL Combine
Tyler Nubin and Brevyn Spann-Ford have been invited to the NFL Combine and will represent the Gophers football program in Indianapolis from Feb. 26-March 4.
Nubin was a First Team All-American and an All-Big Ten First Team selection last season after making 53 tackles, five interceptions and breaking up four passes.
He made 207 tackles across his five-year career at Minnesota, and his 13 interceptions are a program record. In Pro Football Focus’ most recent mock draft, Nubin is projected as a second-round pick.
Spann-Ford didn’t have a big of season as expected, hauling in 25 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns, but he made a significant impact as a blocker in a very successful Gophers rushing offense. He was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention after the season and caught a touchdown pass in the Senior Bowl.
He caught 95 passes for 1,061 yards and seven touchdowns in his six-year career.
Pro Football Network ranks Spann-Ford as the ninth-best tight end in the draft.
