Pair of Gophers to return for seventh season
According to the team's online roster, running back Bryce Williams and defensive lineman Darnell Jefferies are returning to Minnesota for their seventh seasons of college football.
Williams has rushed for 1,097 yards and 12 touchdowns since joining the Gophers in 2018.
Ahead of the team's Week 7 game against Iowa, it was announced the Williams would miss the remainder of the season with an undisclosed injury.
Williams missed the final five games of the Gophers' 2021 season after suffering a leg injury in Week 8 against Northwestern.
This is the final year of eligibility for Williams.
Jefferies will also use his seventh year of eligibility after missing the entirety of the 2023 season due to injury.
Jefferies joined the Gophers in 2022 after spending the previous four seasons at Clemson. In 2022, Jefferies played in all 13 games recording six total tackles.
