The Gophers will be without linebacker Maverick Barawnoski and safety Kerry Brown, while Bruins' QB Ethan Garbers remains questionable for Saturday's matchup.

Baranowski remains out for the second straight week. He started the first five games for Minnesota at linebacker alongside Cody Lindenberg, but veteran Devon Williams filled into the No. 2 role last week against USC. Underclassmen Joey Gerlach and Tyler Stolsky will add depth at the position.

Brown is out after suffering an injury last week against the Trojans. His absence opened the door for star freshman Koi Perich to have an every-down role for the first time this season. He should have an opportunity to carry the momentum into Saturday night's game with the Bruins.

UCLA started quarterback Justyn Martin for the first time last week against Penn State, filling in for Garbers who has been the longtime starter. Garbers practiced all week, but he is listed as questionable. There is no official answer about who will start under center against the Gophers.
