Gophers extend longtime swimming coach Kelly Kremer

He's currently in his 26th year with the Minnesota program.

Longtime Gophers swimming coach Kelly Kremer and the U agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the program through the 2028 season, Minnesota announced on Thursday.

Kremer is in his 26th season with the program and he’s been the coach of both the men’s and women’s teams since April 12, 2011.

This June he became the Director of Swimming and Diving at the U.

“I am fortunate to be able to work at this university and within this athletic department. I am really proud of our student-athletes for all they have accomplished in my time here,” Kremer said in a statement. “Together with my staff and our student-athletes, we will continue to build on Mark Coyle’s vision for success in Minnesota Swimming and Diving.”

Kremer has coached four student-athletes that have won a combined seven NCAA swimming titles during his tenure at the U. Kremer has been a part of eight Gophers teams that have won Big Ten championships.
