Gophers volleyball standout Taylor Landfair enters transfer portal

She was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2022.

Gophers volleyball standout Taylor Landfair has entered the transfer portal, multiple outlets reported Friday night.

Landfair, a 6-foot-5 redshirt junior outside hitter, was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2020 class and was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2020-21, 2022 and 2023. She was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2022. 

Landfair has recorded 1,131 kills and 461 digs in 89 matches at the U. She has two years of eligibility remaining.

The Gophers struggled early on under first-year head coach Keegan Cook, but they eventually found a rhythm towards the end of the season, sneaking into the NCAA Tournament and sweeping Utah State in the first round. Creighton ended their season in the Round of 32.

Landfair had 361 kills and a career-high 229 digs for the U in 2023, averaging 3.19 kills and a career-best 2.03 digs per set.
