Emmanuel Forbes Says He's The Best Cornerback In The 2023 NFL Draft

Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Mississippi State had its pro day in Davis Wade Tuesday, March 28th -- something that presented a chance for star cornerback Emmanuel Forbes to show what he has been working on since the combine last month.

And he couldn't have showcased more confidence.

When asked directly if he believes he is the best cornerback in the 2023 NFL Draft his response was simple.

"Yes, 100 percent".

Moving forward, he knows what he brings to the table from a scouting perspective.

"(I want to) show that I am real fluid in my technique and how explosive I am honestly," Forbes said at the pro day interview when asked what he wanted to show NFL teams.

Knocked for his frame by some, Forbes now weighs 170 pounds whereas previously at the combine he was 166 pounds.

"A lot of teams try to knock me for my weight and I feel like they are not going to pick me because of what I weigh but they are just making a mistake honestly," Forbes said.

Although that is still perceived as one of his biggest weaknesses, it has not stopped top teams from being highly interested in him.

"I've heard from almost every team, but I've talked to the Patriots, the Eagles, the Cowboys, and the Steelers a lot and they are interested in me," Forbes said.

Forbes finished out the 2022 season with six interceptions, three of which he returned for a touchdown, allowing him to lead in the FBS as he made history. He closes out his collegiate career with 14 interceptions, 22 pass deflections, and 149 tackles, impressing with his athleticism and ball-hawking ability,

Where he goes next month as he prepares to take the NFL stage will be something to keep watch over.
