Cowbell Crossover on The Joe Gaither Show
We welcome Kensi Brandenburg into "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" to give us a look at what's going on in Starkville. The Mississippi State Bulldogs have had one of the more dramatic weeks in the SEC after firing Zach Arnett before he even finished his first season in charge.
Arnett had the Bulldogs at 4-6 with only a single win the Southeastern Conference this year.
Brandenburg joins us to let us know why the administration felt right now was the best time to send Arnett packing, and who they might be looking at or what they might be looking for in their next head football coach.
Mississippi State will end up a bottom-four team in the conference in 2023, even if they win their last two games and earn bowl-eligibility. What's a realistic expectation for the Bulldogs with their next hear coach when comparing to the other programs in the SEC?
We spent a little time discussing the fans and students feelings around Arnett and how he may have alienated himself from them at an early point in this opportunity.
It's not all bad around Mississippi State as the Bulldogs basketball programs are both undefeated to start their seasons off. The Lady Bulldogs haven't stacked the deck too tough through two weeks, but 4-0 is certainly a strong start. The men got to play in the Barstool Sports Invitational against Arizona State to open their year and have subsequently defeated UT-Martin and North Alabama as well.
