The Mississippi State Bulldogs softball team is a perfect 6-0 on the season after dominant wins in its opening weekend against UAB and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, as well as a midweek doubleheader sweep against the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

Now, the Bulldogs face a tougher challenge as they travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to compete in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge. The Bulldogs will play two games on Friday against the UC Davis Aggies (10 a.m. CT) and the UC San Diego Tritons (3 p.m. CT) and two games on Saturday against the No. 16 Utah Utes (6 p.m. CT) and the No. 7 Clemson Tigers (8:30 p.m. CT).

Last Outing, UC Davis: The Aggies lost to Sacramento State 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Last Outing, UC San Diego: The Tritons lost to Clemson 6-4 on Wednesday morning in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.

Last Outing, Utah: The Utes lost Game 1 of their doubleheader Thursday morning to South Carolina in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge 9-1. The team takes on Auburn at 1:30 p.m. CT.

Last Outing, Clemson: The Tigers defeated UC San Diego 6-4 on Wednesday in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
