Another Preseason Honor For Mississippi State Outfielder Dakota Jordan

Dakota Jordan earns yet another preseason honor. The Canton, Mississippi native was selected to the preseason All-SEC second team today after being named a third-team All-American by Baseball America on Monday.
It is not shocking to Bulldog fans that the sophomore is getting a lot of preseason praise. MSU is a storied program with its fair share of stars, but the 6-0 220-pound outfielder stands out above all the rest.
Jordan is also a model teammate, as last season, the All-SEC freshman team member was benched after a slow start. The former Mississippi State Football commit struggled early with recognizing breaking balls, which led to some ugly strikeouts.
However, when Jordan was inserted back into the lineup, he shined and finished the season batting .307, with ten home runs and 40 RBIS. The most impressive part about Jordan’s season was his ability to hit SEC pitching consistently; the true freshman batted .333 in SEC play and hit eight home runs.
If the Bulldogs want to return to the postseason this year, Jordan must live up to his potential.
