STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs continue their hot streak as they dismantle Memphis. It did not start well for the Bulldogs as the Tigers jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the top of the fifth.

However, MSU did not wait long to respond as they put up seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Mississippi State never relinquished the lead, thanks to Colby Holcombe, who pitched well.

Holcombe worked 3.2 innings and allowed only a run while striking out four. Pico Kohn also returned tonight for the Bulldogs, and he gave up a run in his one inning of work.

The middle of the Mississippi State lineup stood out as they combined for 11 hits and drove in nine runs. Earlier this season, it seemed like the Bulldogs were not playing to their talent level, but with the hot hitting of Aaron Downs and Connor Hujsak, this lineup is lethal.

Mississippi State baseball is back in action this Thursday as they have their road game of the year against Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
