Mississippi State Baseball's Dakota Jordan Remains On The Rise

Dakota Jordan was named SEC Freshman of the Week after the weekend series against Ole Miss and continues to progress.

Mississippi State's Dakota Jordan was recently named SEC Freshman of The Week after the immense role he played in helping lead the Bulldogs to a series win against Ole Miss -- their second consecutive conference series win this season after the initial drought.

Over the weekend, Jordan hit three home runs and drove in nine runs. Those nine runs driven in were the second-most in the SEC last week. In the series, he went 5-for-13 with a pair of home runs and drove in six.

His most impressive hit was on Saturday, when he picked up the game-winning single, pushing the Bulldogs 8-7 against the Rebels. He continued to drive the momentum for the team, hitting a three-run shot that earned the Bulldogs their eighth series win against Ole Miss.

He recorded a batting average of .375 and continued his hitting streak for 12 games which is the longest streak of his career. On the season, he holds an overall batting average of .477, something that looks to only continue to improve as Jordan demands attention as one of the team's brightest stars.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, April 21 in against Auburn at 6 p.m. CT.
