Mississippi State Baseball Defeats Evansville 5-2

The Bulldogs extend their winning streak to seven.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs extend their winning streak to seven with a 5-2 win over Evansville. Nate Dohm once again pitched well for MSU.

Dohm worked 6.1 innings and struck out ten, and allowed two runs. The Indiana native was not as dominant as his previous start, but The Purple Aces led all of Division One in hits coming into the game so it was the stiffest lineup Dohm has faced all year.

However, Dohm left with an injury in the sixth and it was eerily quiet in Dudy Noble Field. It did not look good, but Dohm did give a thumbs-up to the dugout when leaving the mound.

Hunter Hines and Dakota Jordan also had an impressive game. The duo combined for seven hits and drove in all five Bulldog runs.

It was a good game for MSU, but the Dohm injury is very concerning. The Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network+
