Mississippi State Baseball Embarrassed by Georgia Southern 11-4
The Mississippi State Bulldogs dropped back to below .500 after an embarrassing 11-4 loss to Georgia Southern at home Saturday. The game may have been the lowest point of the Bulldog baseball season thus far, and that's saying something.
Georgia Southern jumped out early on the Bulldogs with a four-run top of the first inning. From then on, the Bulldogs looked sluggish and defeated on the field.
The Eagles had their largest lead after the top of the fifth, leading 11-1. The Bulldogs season can be described in one play today in the top of the fifth. MSU had the runner picked off between second and third, but Larry threw the ball off the runner, who raced home as the ball trickled towards the Mississippi State dugout.
The Bulldogs will go for the series win tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs appeared to bounce back the previous night with a solid win over Georgia Southern. Pitching was once again impressive for MSU, as it has been all seaon, but the Bulldogs finally put together some clutch hits en route to a 5-1 victory.
Game 2 of the series was set for Saturday afternoon. Khal Stephen got the start, and he dominated last week in his first start at Mississippi State. Would the Bulldogs continue to strive for a much-needed sweep?

Last time out, Bulldogs: MSU suffered another loss to Austin Peay 13-10. The Bulldogs blew a five-run lead and could not get clutch hits.
