Twitter Reacts to Mississippi State Baseball's Parting Ways With Assistant Coach
It's been an inconsistent season for Mississippi State baseball as Bulldogs head into the back half of their slate of games, and one of the bigger issues has been pitching.
The Bulldogs have plenty of up-and-coming talent and have had some high points in 2023 despite hitting some historic lows at the same time, with the majority of their woes coming on the mound.
MSU head coach Chris Lemonis made a move in addressing that Monday, announcing that the program had parted ways with pitching coach Scott Foxhall.Β
"While this is a difficult decision because of the tremendous respect I have for Scott as a person and a coach, it is in the best interest of our program," Lemonis said in a statement released by the university.
"I want to thank Scott for his contributions to Mississippi State over the last five years, and I am appreciative of all he's devoted to our program. He has played a significant role on our staff during his time here, including helping us win a College World Series Championship. I sincerely wish Scott and his family the absolute best in the future."
And, of course, Twitter had plenty to say about that:
It will be interesting to see how things play out when the Bulldogs return to the baseball field on Friday for a three-game series against the No. 6-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks.
