Watch: Everything Mississippi State Baseball Coach Chris Lemonis, Players Said After 14-3 Win Over ULM

Everything Mississippi State head baseball coach Chris Lemonis and his players had to say after the 14-3 win over ULM in Game 2.

Mississippi State baseball may have fallen short in its initial meeting against ULM at the top of the 2023 season, but it did not make the same mistake as the Bulldogs captured a dominant, 14-3 win in Game 2 on Wednesday.

Freshman ambidextrous pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje was the star of the day, pitching four innings of shutout baseball with one hit allowed in his time on the mound.

MSU head coach Chris Lemonis and select players met with the media after the contest, and it comes as no surprise the Cijntje was the recipient of some high praise.

"I thought it was great," Lemonis said of the freshman's performance. "Probably could have gone a little longer if we hadn’t thrown him the inning on Sunday. I think his last pitch was 97.8, or something like that. It was an impressive night for him. He wasn’t great left handed and he usually is. I don’t know if he hasn’t had enough practice lately just because he was a little tender."

Up next, the Cijntje and the team will look to stay hot as they face the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday at 4 p.m. in the start of a three-game series in Starkville.
