Former Mississippi State Big Man Will McNair Commits To Providence

Will McNair, a valuable role player for the Bulldogs' tournament team this year, has found a new home at Providence.

Not long after entering the transfer portal, former Mississippi State men's basketball player Will McNair has found his next landing spot at Providence.

The 6-foot-11, 265-pound forward appeared in all 34 games for the Bulldogs on the most recent season, averaging three points per game and was known for his physical play on defense in the post.

Originally starting his career out at New Mexico State for the first three years, McNair spent a season at MSU, where he averaged 3.3 points and 3.3 minutes in 12.6 minutes per game.

He started in the team's victory over No. 21 Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament, totaling six points and seven rebounds against No. 15 Arkansas in the second round.

When All-SEC standout Tolu Smith announced he was returning to Starkville, it was inevitable for McNair to enter the portal. McNair is looking for a place to start and improve his draft stock.

The Providence Friars of the Big East are looking to make their third straight NCAA tournament next season.
