Mississippi State will continue their brutal stretch of opening SEC games by traveling to Rupp Arena. The Bulldogs have struggled to beat the Wildcats in the regular season as they have not won a regular season game against the Wildcats since 2009.

This will be the fourth straight quad-one opportunity for the Bulldogs. MSU needs to continue to stack quality wins as March inches closer.

Series: Kentucky holds a 101-21 advantage over the Bulldogs. The initial meeting between the two schools was on March 1st, 1921.

Last meeting: The Wildcats got the best of MSU last year 71-68 in front of an excited Humphrey Coliseum. It was a battle of bigs as both starting centers Tolu Smith (22) and Oscar Tshiebwe (18) led their teams in scoring.

Last time out, Wildcats: Kentucky suffered their first SEC loss as they were upset 97-92 by Texas A&M

Last time out, Bulldogs: MSU dropped a tough game to Alabama 82-74 in front of a near-capacity crowd. The Bulldogs struggled from the free-throw line by missing their last six free throws.
