Mississippi State women's basketball guard Lauren Park-Lane has been the Bulldogs' top playmaker in their hot 12-2 start to the season as she leads the team with 6.3 assists per game.

Park-Lane notched a team-high six assists in the Bulldogs' last game against Colorado State on Dec. 20, but she also tallied a season-high 33 points on a school record 10 threes. The third player in SEC women's basketball history to make 10 threes in a single game was selected as the conference's Player of the Week on Tuesday for her efforts.

Many of the Bulldogs' victories have resulted by large margins and were decided well before the final buzzer. However, Colorado State put up a fight and Mississippi State was in its largest deficit of the season in the second half. 21 of Park-Lane's points came in the final 20 minutes and she led the Bulldogs to a 82-75 road win.

The Bulldogs outscored Colorado State 26-11 in the fourth quarter, and Park-Lane tallied 12 points, two rebounds and three assists in the period. In other words, she outscored the entire Rams team by herself.

Dec. 20 marked her 13th career 30-point game and her seventh contest with 30-plus points and five-plus assists.

This is the second consecutive week that a Mississippi State women's basketball player has earned an SEC honor, as forward Jessika Carter was the SEC Co-Player of the Week with LSU's Angel Reese. That said, the conference knew that Park-Lane's historic performance should make her stand alone as the only recipient this week.
