Mississippi State Basketball Set To Face Washington State in Hall Of Fame Tip-Off

MSU hoops will waste no time this year trying to build its resume for the NCAA tournament as the Bulldogs face a fellow Power Five opponent in Washington State on Nov. 18.

Last year, Mississippi State played in the Fort Myers Tipoff early in the season, and head coach Chris Jans has the Bulldogs in another early season tournament.

Now, the Bulldogs are likely to face two teams who were in the postseason last year.

MSU will start with Washington State at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. WSU finished the season last year 17-17 and lost in the first round of the NIT.

The other game will include Rhode Island, coming off a 9-22 season, and Northwestern, a team who made the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament a year ago. If the early favorites win their first games, it will be a matchup between two NCAA tournament teams, Mississippi State and Northwestern.

The Bulldogs got off to a hot start last year, beginning the year at 11-0 with wins over Utah, Marquette, and Akron.

Three victories helped MSU earn a bid to the NCAA tournament, and the Bulldogs will come into this one hoping they can build their resume with a couple of wins in the Hall Of Fame Tip-Off.
