STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs have found a superstar in freshman Josh Hubbard. Hubbard was named Co-Freshman of the Week in the SEC, and this is the fifth time the Madison, Mississippi native has earned that honor.

Jamon Gordon previously held the record as he was a four-time recipient of this honor in the 2005-2006 season. Hubbard played a significant role in two critical wins over LSU and Ole Miss this past week for the Bulldogs.

The 5-10 guard set a new career high on the road at Baton Rouge Saturday as he scored 32 points and went 6-12 from the three-point line. Hubbard is now averaging 15 points per game and leads all SEC freshmen with seven 20+ point games.

The all-time leading scorer in Mississippi High School Basketball history came into this season with high expectations. However, Hubbard has exceeded expectations and then some.

This is another big week for Mississippi State as they face two ranked foes, and the freshman sensation will need to play well for MSU.

Mississippi State is back in action tomorrow at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN as they host Kentucky.
