Mississippi State Basketball Player Tolu Smith Makes Statement On His Injury
Mississippi State football is in full swing midway through the season, but another popular sport is on the horizon in men's basketball.
The program got some bad news ahead of the season, though, as it was announced that standout Tolu Smith would not be active until SEC play due to a foot injury suffered in a recent practice.
After head coach Chris Jans made a statement on the situation, Smith himself took to social media to make his own comments.
"I shed my tears already till empty. Asked God 'why me?' Wondered why I continue to give this game all I got, and I get the short end of the stick. Life can really suck sometimes! You know most people give up after all these obstacles…
But I’m a MF DRAGON! Quit? Hell na #UNO"
With the season coming closer every day, the team is working hard to prepare for the schedule with the absence of Smith in mind.
But there's no doubt that Smith will be back at full force and clearly demonstrated grit and determination when conference play gets underway for the Bulldogs.
