Mississippi State Women's Basketball Adds All-Big East Scorer Lauren Park-Lane to the Roster

On Sunday, Mississippi State women's basketball took a step in building the team by adding Lauren Park-Lane.

For her last year of eligibility in college basketball, Lauren Park-Lane is to play for Mississippi State after seeing action in her last three years in the Big East at Seton Hall.

Park-Lane has held her dominance as a transfer guard for the past three years. Over the years she has earned 13 different awards, her most recent being the 2022-2023 All-Big East First Team.

During her first year, she was the only on the roster to start all 31 one games and averaged 6.7 points per game. To finish out her freshman year Park-Lane led Seton Hall to the Big East Conference with 129 assists and 4.2 assists a game.

In Park-Lane's sophomore season, she was named the Big East Most Improved Player of the Year. She averaged 17.5 points per game, which was sixth-best in the Big East Conference. In her third year, she led the nation in total assists (260) and finished fourth in the country for assists per game (7.0).

Last season, Park-Lane increased her level of play, she averaged 20.9 points per game and broke Seton Hall's single-season record of 686 points.

The Bulldogs will be lucky to have her this upcoming season, as she adds something special to the offensive lineup and is a solid all-around experienced player.

Along with Park-Lane, State is adding a top 20 signing class high school ranks in four-star. The top signees are Jasmine Brown, Mjracle Sheppard, and Quanirah Cherry-Montague. State also added Meloney Thames from a junior college.

MSU still has four scholarships to give out for the 2023-2024 season and it will be interesting to see who they are awarded to.
