2023 NFL Draft: Twitter Reacts to Bryce Young Drafted No. 1 Overall by Carolina Panthers
Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had been pinned as the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft in the days leading up to the event, and that's indeed what he became when the event kicked off Thursday night in Kansas City.
Young projects as a prospect with a high floor who potentially has just as high of a ceiling as he heads into his professional career, finishing out his final season at Alabama with a 64.5% completion percentage, 3,328 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran for 185 yards and four touchdowns on 49 attempts.
One of the primary differences between Young and some of the other quarterbacks who have come out of Alabama is the quality of supporting cast he played with -- the Crimson Tide are shakier than they have been previously as of late with subpar wide receiver play in 2022.
The Panthers are no stranger to ups-and-downs with turnover at the quarterback position over recent years, so it will be interesting to see how things play out with the team prioritizing signal-caller above all else this offseason.
Here's a look at what Twitter had to say about the selection:
