Dak Prescott Shares Why He Thinks Football Should Be Played On Grass Instead Of Turf

Dak Prescott recently chimed in on the debate on playing football on turf as opposed to grass.

Ever since Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered an on-field ankle injury in 2020, he has made a case for why he thinks football should be played on grass.

The injury happened on turf, and Prescott was not the only one who was affected. After Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles heel on the MetLife Stadium turf, he has agreed with Prescott that the NFL should play on grass.

The NFL Players Association has shown agreement in that the league should change the way they play. Especially with all the money the players make, Prescott thinks that the games should be played on a surface that keeps the players healthiest at best.

“Yeah, I’m 100 percent a grass guy... My injury plays a huge part in that,” said Prescott. “How physical this game is, the way guys are getting tackled, it’s a whole lot safer, in my opinion, on grass than turf.”

Keeping the players from getting injured should be the league's largest priority in planning and executing games. Seeing how these players respond to it also has a big role in this.

“That’s hard on our bodies,” Prescott told reporters. “This is a billion-dollar business and you want the best product on the field all the time.”
